John Pettman, the founder of Exclusive Butler School, began his career at Buckingham Palace followed by the British Embassy in Paris.
John has experience in many prestigious households and has directed multiple properties and staff around the world for many high-profile families.
In 2012, John also established Exclusive Household Staff, which is now a recognised domestic staff agency providing staff worldwide and is acknowledges as a global market leader in the Industry.
As Group Managing Director, Matthew is responsible for the Viking Maritime Group, including Viking Crew, Maritime Skills Academy & Chiltern Maritime.
With offices in the UK, Channel Islands, USA, Europe, Asia and New Zealand, Viking Maritime engages with thousands of seafarers providing a prominent global presence for our complete crewing solutions.
Matthew joined Viking in 2001, prior to this had a seagoing career spanning 8 years working in the Hotel Department of Holland America Line and Windstar Cruises.
His early career was spent in the Guest Services department, sailing out of Dover on cross Channel ferries.
Along with all the Directors and Management at Viking, Matthew is proactive in ensuring that administrative and technological standards are progressive and in line with International Maritime Law, global employment and payroll procedures and industry training standards.
This together with in-house and Lloyds accredited Quality Assurance ensures Viking Maritime Group are constantly reviewing and improving company and client policies and procedures, to constantly and consistently provide best practice.
Mark began his career in the service industry over 25 years ago. His vocation has seen him develop from hotels to serving Royalty, as well as teaching.
Mark was the programme leader for a respected catering college that supplied Butlers to Royalty and Embassies around the world.
Having worked for many different Royal families throughout his career, Mark is now the Company Butler for Exclusive Household Staff working in the private homes of Ultra High Net Worth Individuals, Royal families and Heads of State, travelling the globe taking on various assignments.
This level of experience makes for a perfect fit as a Trainer for LYIT.
Daniel possesses over 15 years’ hospitality and private service industry experience. Dan initially studied Catering at Thanet College, before moving on to work as a footman/butler at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle, followed by the British Embassy in both Washington and Paris. Dan then spent a few years as the Private Butler to a high- profile Swiss family, serving royalty and highly esteemed guests all over the world. Prior to joining LYIT, Dan was the General Manager for over six years of a family-owned boutique seaside hotel and restaurant in Kent.
Sadie is a highly experienced Housekeeper, having worked for a variety of British Royal family members for over a decade. Her initiative and methodical way of working has seen her fulfil a wide range of roles within the domestic world from laundry, dressing, and managing personal appointments. Sadie studied art and design whilst at school, which has provided her with a keen eye for detail and allows her to maintain the highest level of standards for work. Sadie enjoys sharing her expertise and knowledge with others.
Paul is our Project and Training Manager. With a 25-year hospitality career spanning the Private, Luxury Hotel, and Corporate sectors, Paul brings unique and varied experience to LYIT. After 4 years with the British Royal Family as Senior Footman, he went on to hold Head Butler and household Manager roles with UHNW families, and at two of London’s most prestigious hotels, Claridge’s and The Dorchester. Leaving London in 2019, he was Operations Manager for an award-winning boutique hotel in Sussex, before joining Saga Ltd, as their Head of Front of House, overseeing their Catering, Events and Front of House multi-site operations.
Ronja grew up in the small town of Rendsburg in northern Germany, close to two well-known yacht-building shipyards and the Kiel Canal. This led to her involvement in yachting and shipyards, and she started building a career in yachting and hospitality in 2008. During her career, Ronja has worked as a Chief Stewardess both at sea and in the shipyard, attending to a variety of high-profile guests, including UK and other royal families. More recently, Ronja worked as Butler at The Savoy Hotel. Her experience and expertise span from shipyard refits, to housekeeping, valet service and silver service, to name a few. Ronja’s passion lies in providing the best service possible for guests and clients, and she has always enjoyed sharing the knowledge she has gained over the years, passing on information, sharing experiences, and seeing junior crew learn and grow.
